5 Depressing quotes about life and what we can learn from them

In this blog post, we explore 5 Depressing Quotes about life, not so we can feel sorry for ourselves, but so that we can learn a lesson from rewriting services on how perspective can make or break your chances of living a healthy and happy life.
Sometimes it helps to take a step back and immerse yourself in someone else’s shoes who may be dealing with sadness or depression. It’s important that we keep life in perspective, and learn to deal with the difficult situations we are all faced with at some point in our lives.
Have you ever found yourself in a bad mood, and the extremely bubbly personality in your office is just so happy it makes you want to slap them? We have all been there.
What we have to keep in mind however, is that scientific studies have shown that people with a brighter outlook on daily life live longer, have lower blood pressure and less risk for heart attack and stroke.
They are also more productive and have a better chance of business and personal success. This does not mean that you have to be delusional, it just means that sometimes it’s helpful to look on the bright side of things.

1. Why does it always rain on me? – Unknown

Depending on your outlook, there are times in life when you may think that the whole world is against you. If you have a glass is half empty outlook it may seem like you can never get ahead.
We teach our readers at Aspiring Mind that not everyone was dealt the same hand of cards. You take what life throws at you in stride, and do the best you can with the cards you have. Don’t complain and don’t blame other people when you fail.
Life isn’t fair and you have to make the best with what you have. Your path will be harder than some others, but that just means you’re a stronger person when you both reach the top of that mountain.
Folks……. there will be times in life when things are not going your way. Deal with it, buck up and keep moving forward. Let nothing top you from achieving greatness!

2. You can see many smiles every day, but you can never know whose world is actually upside down – Unknown

Remember that people often put on a happy face when they don’t really want to. This is one of the sad realities of modern human life. Many people have a myriad of emotions just under that fake smile they put on in the morning.
I hate to tell you this, but to coffee barista could give two shits whether you are having a good morning or not. Especially if she just had a death in the family or is struggling with financial issues at home. When you interact with your fellow human beings, always try to remember that you don’t always know what the other person is going through.
If the guy at McDonald’s messes up your cheeseburger by adding pickles to it when you clearly said NO PICKES!!! Give the guy a break. You never know what his life is like and you don’t know the types of things he or she may be dealing with. Maybe he is tired because he is going to school at night and helping pay for his mom’s medical bills.
This does not mean looking at the world through rose colored glasses on. There are a lot of plain old idiots and asshats out there believe me.
But it does mean taking a step back to think about other people’s possible hidden struggles and pre-dispositions.

3. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have – Unknown

How many times have you heard someone in a bar after watching a professional UFC or Boxing match yell stupid shit like “I could whoop that guys ass” pffffttt! They say these things even though they have never trained a day in thier life! It is easy to think highly of ourselves in a fight or flight situation when we are never tested.
We don’t have to run from lions or escape a pissed off shark in our usual daily lives. Remember that you must always continue sharpening your skills, and when your real world test comes you will be more prepared for it.

4. Smiling has always been easier than explaining why you’re sad – Unknown

Let’s face it, we have all done this more than once! Sometimes when you’re pissed off or sad the most annoying thing someone can do is ask “What’s wrong” or “Are you ok, do you want to talk about it”.
This may seem to contradict not letting your emotions bottle up, but many people would much rather fake a smile than talk to someone about their problems. It is human nature to put up a defensive wall and not deal with our problems.
Don’t make the mistake of always putting on a fake smile when working out your frustration may prove to be beneficial for your personal and professional success in the long run. Save yourself from the pain later, emotions are always more potent when they have been stewing for a while so let them out when you can.
Obviously your job interview is the not the ideal time to vent your frustrations about your former boss, so be smart about when you put it all out on the table.

5. I have the choice of being constantly active and happy or introspectively passive and sad – Sylvia Plath

Don’t sit around being sad on purpose. That can be so annoying because some people actually hang out with groups of other people being depressed on purpose. Stop it! Just Stop with the emo!! This is pretty simple folks. You don’t have to be miserable to create great art and be successful in your life. Be active and have purpose.
People that are purpose driven and passionate in their lives have been shown in scientific studies to be healthier and to live longer. Find your passion and pursue it. Don’t be a boring mope slop.
Find your goals and crush them! Then rinse and repeat and have fun while you do it.
